Using the platform
Is it legal to search for someone using Open World?
Yes. Open World is designed for licensed private investigators, legal professionals, journalists, and corporate compliance teams. Users must comply with applicable law. The platform is not intended for FCRA-regulated purposes or consumer self-lookup.
What can I search for?
Name, phone number, email address, photo (face recognition), identity document (passport, national ID, tax number), physical address, username or crypto wallet. Any identifier can surface a cross-referenced profile.
How do I run a background check?
Sign in to the cabinet, choose a method, enter any known identifier. Results are assembled into a structured dossier in seconds.
Can I find someone by photo?
Yes. Upload a photo in the cabinet. Results include confidence scores. See Face Search for details.
What is included in a dossier?
Depending on the record set: name and aliases, date of birth, documents, addresses, phones, emails, occupation, vehicles, family links, social profiles and photos.
Coverage & data
What countries are covered?
190+ countries across all continents. Deepest coverage in the Americas, Europe, Middle East and Southeast Asia.
Where does the data come from?
Aggregated and normalized from verified public records, government registries, electoral rolls, court records and licensed sources. Records are linked through shared identifiers.
How accurate are the results?
Accuracy depends on the source and country. Treat results as investigative leads and verify independently. Each data point shows its source when available.
How is this different from Google?
Google indexes public web pages. Open World indexes structured records — registries, identity documents, phone directories and sources that never appear on the open web.
Pricing & API
How much does it cost?
$5 per query. 10 searches — $50. 100 searches — $500. No monthly minimum. Credits do not expire. Crypto checkout in the cabinet.
Is there an API?
Yes. REST / JSON, Bearer auth, 100 req/min. Same $5 rate. Keys are issued after sign-up.
What is a Pipl alternative?
Pipl shut down around 2023. Open World covers global identity resolution plus face search and self-serve pricing.
